02 Aug BFGoodrich® Tires Launches Advantage T/A® Sport LT
BFGoodrich® Tires is expanding its power line with the launch of the BFGoodrich Advantage T/A® Sport LT tire. This year-round tire for CUVs, SUVs and light trucks is an extension of the BFGoodrich Advantage T/A Sport® launched in 2016.
The BFGoodrich Advantage T/A Sport tire and Advantage T/A Sport LT tire share the same advanced construction designed to deliver the ideal combination of performance and versatility. This premium all-season and all-purpose performance is backed by improved hydroplaning resistance, snow traction and enhanced handling. The Advantage T/A Sport tire line is designed to equip drivers for real-world scenarios when weather and road conditions change.
The Advantage T/A Sport tires deliver that performance through technology: locking 3-D active sipes, which provide more biting edges, and designed for increased wet and snow traction; and Aqua-Flume technology, a complex network of grooves in the tire designed to disperse water from the contact patch. Among the most important features is the full-depth tread, which maintains consistent performance and look throughout the life of the tire.
The Advantage T/A® Sport LT tire will initially be available in 12 sizes starting today, and further expand to 33 sizes in 2017 delivering coverage for more than 70% of SUV and light-truck fitments. This expansion completes the brand’s power line strategy to simplify its product mix by combining the performance characteristics of four previous tire lines into one. Six additional sizes for Advantage T/A LT are expected to launch in the first quarter of 2018.
The Advantage T/A Sport LT tire delivers 30 percent better snow traction1 than leading competitive tires, as well as nine percent better hydroplaning performance2 and 10 percent better handling that its predecessor tire.3 The tire also offers advanced mileage confidence, with up to 15,000 more kilometres than its predecessor tire4.
The BFGoodrich Advantage T/A Sport LT tire is offered in sizes ranging from 15-inch to 22-inch with T, H and V speed ratings, and will include 12 new sizes (two 18-inch, five 19-inch, four 20-inch and one 22-inch).
